• 1 cup cooked Basmati rice ¼ cup vegetables (French beans, carrots, peas ) 1 tablespoon butter 1 teaspoon cumin seeds/jeera seeds 1 teaspoon aniseeds/saunf 1 onion sliced 1 capsicum 2 tomatoes 1 tablespoon ginger –garlic paste A pinch of turmeric 1 tablespoon Pav Bhaji masala 1 teaspoon chilli powder 1 tablespoon oil Salt to taste

A popular fried rice preparation usually served at all wedding banquets. Tawa Pulao a light and mildly spicy pulav, which is a complete meal in itself. Its full of various vegetables.


  1. In a pan heat oil and butter together.
  2. Add cumin seeds and aniseeds and allow them to splutter.
  3. Add ginger –garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and tomatoes. Fry well for 10 minuties.
  4. Add Pav Bhaji masala, salt,  vegetables, and capsicum  and fry well till vegetables are cooked.
  5. Toss in the rice and mix well.
  6. Garnish the tava pulav with coriander leaves.
