This is a very simple and basic coconut curry popular in the coastal state of Goa which is rich with may coconut plantations. It also contains a good amount of chopped onions & this combination gives it a very typical texture that is special to Kuval.
Generally vegetable fodi crispies and kissmore are a great combination with this.
METHOD:
- Grind to a paste with ¼ cup water the coconut, peppercorns, red chilly powder and tamarind.
- Add salt to the curry.
- Add finely chopped onion.
- The Kuval curry is ready to be served with steamed rice.
Optional: This is a mild recipe. Those who prefer stronger & spicier flavour can add an extra chilly and and extra pepper corn.
