- Flour (maida) – 1 cup
- Eggs – 2
- Castor or powdered sugar- 1 cup
- Butter – 100 gms
- Baking powder- 1 tsp
- Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp
- Strawberry crush – 2 tbsp
- Vanilla essence – ½ tsp
- Milk- 3-4 tsp
- Dessicated coconut to garnish- optional.
- Choco chips- optional.
- Sieve flour, baking powder, in a bowl twice. Keep aside.
- In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until it is nice and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one by one and beat well.
- Add the vanilla essence and milk and beat well.
- Fold in gently the flour, little by little and mix it together.
- Divide the mixture into 3 parts.
- Add cocoa powder to 1 and beat well.
- Add strawberry crush to the 2nd part and mix it well.
- Keep the 3rd part as plain vanilla.
- Now grease the baking tin with butter.
- Place a foil of butter paper on the bottom of the tin.
- Now spread the cocoa batter at the bottom of the tin, and layer it next with vanilla layer.
- Top this lastly with the strawberry layer.
- Hit the pan a couple of times to get rid of the trapped air pockets.
- Bake it at 180 degrees C for 30-35 mins.
Choco Vanilla Strawberry Cake
Tried this. Turned out awesome. Kids were amazed on seeing the three layers.
I was dubious the first time I made it, and even when I turned the cake out because you can t see the layers on the edges. But then when I cut into it, I gasped with astonishment! I mean, look at how perfect the layers are!!
